Other retreads or reboots such as Men in Black: International, Godzilla: King of the Monsters and Dark Phoenix suffered from off-putting reception, and were condemned for being unsuccessful to get new ground. Although reviews are still in progress, analysts think Universal might succeed where other studios missed to entertain the users. Uniting up two fan-favorites in Statham and Johnson’s characters may feel like a fresh layer of paint on a respected franchise. There were rumors that on-set beef between “Fast” star Vin Diesel and Johnson made a spinoff for Luke Hobbs something of a requirement instead of just a creative risk that’s time had arrived.
“The collective star power and undeniable chemistry of Statham and Johnson, in addition to the huge goodwill creating a halo of the Fast & Furious series must make this a huge worldwide success,” claimed a senior media analyst, Paul Dergarabedian, to the media in an interview.
Although other studios avoided launching a film all over the nation this weekend, Hobbs & Shaw will still face rivalry from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood by Quentin Tarantino and The Lion King form Disney. The remake of The Lion King by Disney just surpassed $1 billion in ticket sales all over the world. After less than 3 weeks in theaters, it has created $360 million in the US, making it the 4th-largest film at the domestic box office of 2019.
Hence, it remains to be seen as to how Hobbs & Shaw will perform at the box office. What do you think? Let us know your thoughts by commenting below.
